christelle van zyl . art

Christelle lives and works in Stellenbosch in the beautiful Winelands district of the Western Cape, South Africa, surrounded by majestic blue mountains and with a view of the expansive Atlantic ocean.
Her art reflects her attention to detail, her regard for textures, contrasts and shadows, and her interest in the mental, spiritual and physical aspects of the human race as direct and indirect subjects.
She uses charcoal on paper and oils on board or canvas as her mediums of choice.
She is the founder of esCAPEart which is organising Workshops in Stellenbosch by renowned international artists, to stimulate the interaction between artists from South Africa and the rest of the world. In August 2017, the workshops will be done by David Jon Kassan and Shana Levenson.
